The Senate, Parliament of Australia, Canberra

Parliament House was surprisingly accesible and the guided tour very good. The lack of visible security was astounding - but I am guessing there was a huge arsenal ready at a moments notice. Funnily enough the Parliament building actually looks like a bunker as its built into a hill which one can actually walk over - thus giving the impression that governement is for the people rather than looking down on the people - a nice touch.

All the uphlostery colours are carefully chosen to reflect natural shades found in Australian fauna and flora. However, the redish theme is obviously taken from the House of Lords. Posted by Picasa
