It was a bit of an uncomfortable trip to Tassie as its overnight (8pm departure, getting in at 6am at Devonport, Tas) and the seats aren't particularly good. A few drinks in the bar with one or two resident Tassies helped the journey along a bit though. It is possible to take a car on the ferry but Fowler decided to sign up for a 5 day tour of the island - which was a litttle expensive but it was worth the gamble in the end.
