Dali City Walls
Dali was a fun place and Team ODD decided to buy a football and have a knock about around town-much to the annoyance of the locals.

The walk up the hill to the temple was very steep and Butters anhilated the British pair who were left for dead most of the way. Obviously a glass of beer was the best way to recover.

The ferry went to Daju where upon Burdett, Butters and Fowler got a mini bus back to Lijiang. As the bus struggled up back past the other side of the mountains it passed one or two golf courses - they later found out that one of them (Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Golf Course) is 'allegedly' the highest in the world at almost 11,000 ft.
The shocking fire at Woodys Guest House, TLG
As Butters, Burdett and Fowler relaxed at Sean 's Guesthouse they noticed a whisp of smoke down the road, not unusual for these parts. However, within seconds the wooden building was engulfed and it was too big a fire for the local fire fighting team (man, van and a diesel pump). As the three approached Burdett rightly said that we shouldnt get too close because of gas cylinders, one of which exploded about 10 seconds later. It seemed no-one was hurt and the surrounding buildings survived ok.

The lads stayed at the 5 Fingers Guest House the first nightin the gorge. Despite very basic cooking facilities and the remote location the food was absolutely sensational-and you could actually watch it being prepared as the dining room was the kitchen. Quite possibly one of the best pork and rice dishes ever.
Naxi Orchestra, Lijiang
The Naxi Orchestra was a special night - and not just for the comperes broken English. The soloists were extraordinary, reaching some high notes outside the realms of physics as we know it. The photos along the roof of the stage are of the elderly Orchestra members who have sadly passed away.
Naxi Cultural Centre, Lijiang
This pleasant chap showed Fowler the traditional way of making paper. However, Fowler struggled to find the Manadarin to explain how well West Ham are doing in both the Premier League and FA Cup.
