This is Nepals most important Hindu temple. Des decided to make the walk here from the Bodhnath Stupa - only 25 mins. Non Hindus are not allowed in but you can get a good view of the outside - from the banks of the Bagmati River.The air is thick with Cremation Ghat smoke, and while I was there 5 cremations were in progress. It created a very sobering scene as with little ceremony, what is left of the pyre is swept into the river as crowds of monkeys and a few people watch the whole process from the river bank opposite.
